221932_10150162247028525_4778430_nThere are times in most of our lives where we might benefit from a helping hand to meet life’s challenges and find an alternative way of seeing things. Counselling aims to provide this. Counselling and Psychotherapy have considerable overlap. Psychotherapy however, is usually longer term and looks to more underlying issues and ways of being. Counselling is a talking treatment that can be both a practical and creative process that involves the exploration of your feelings and thoughts in a safe and non-judgmental context. The underlying principle is that its central purpose is to help people improve their sense of wellbeing, alleviate their distress, resolve their concerns and increase their ability to solve problems and make decisions for themselves.

Counselling can provide a way of seeing yourself and others in your life with greater clarity that can enable choice and the capacity to better tolerate uncertainties. This evolves as you become more conscious of patterns of behaviour and your emotional responses. It may also contribute to you feeling more authentic, self aware and engaged in how you live your life.

I operate a sliding scale of reduced fees and you can contact me to discuss this further.

If you have private healthcare contact me to discuss fees, as the rate for this differs (I am registered with several health care providers).
